Tax season is officially over, but you can still sign up if you missed the deadline or want to start preparing for next year. The Philadelphia Free Business Tax Preparation Program is offered by the City of Philadelphia to:

  • Strengthen Philadelphia’s small business ecosystem.​
  • Help small businesses adapt to the return of BIRT filing requirements​
  • Reduce financial burden for entrepreneurs

This program is important because thousands of small businesses:

  • Can’t afford tax preparation
  • Are behind on their fillings
  • Don’t trust the system
  • Are unfamiliar with the process and new changes in the tax structure
  • Informal businesses are invisible in policy decisions and get locked out of capital, contracts and relief.

Who Qualifies?

All Philadelphia businesses that earned $250,000 or less in 2024, including:

Micro

micro and small businesses​

Minority

minority, immigrant, and women-owned businesses​

Cash

cash-based or businesses operating informally

Note

Non-Profits, Landlords and property rental businesses are not eligible for this program.
